You aren't going to believe this! A new friend and blogger/musician, Carlos Whittaker, just published an incredible post about some courageous Christian women who attend his church in Riverside, CA.
The leader of the group, Heather V., is an ex-stripper. Under the covering of their pastor at Sandals Church these three ladies hit their local adult clubs offering $20 to meet with dancers one-on-one. Once alone for what the stripper assumes to be a lap dance they turn the tables and begin lovingly sharing the gospel. DOESN'T THAT ABSOLUTELY ROCK? Watch this Current Affair feature story on JC's Girls.
I watched this a day or 2 ago. It reminded me of Kimberly. God seems to really be using & blessing them. I love her idea of the DVD at the Erotica tradeshows! The Creativeness of our God at work!

We use Abelton Live more as a live rig solution for the keys. I choose Logic because it is Native Mac and although might not look as pretty as Pro Tools, It uses that energy on performance.
I linked to you from my sight. Much respect.

Deea-
I thought of Kimberly immediately!
Los-
I would love to go Mac. Budget has kept me in PC world. Listened to your churches latest Podcast. Great sermon on culture/politics. Your pastor is a thinker. I love that. Heard him reference "Pastor Carlos" in his message! I plan on watching the vid on Marsalis today if I get time.

Thanks for forwarding this on to us. I in turn sent it to the national dancer ministry coordinator in Cincinnati, OH. I will be visiting with one of the girls by phone soon. She grew up in Richland, WA and would like to come for a visit. It would be nice to spend some time with her. This may be a start to "something new" the Lord is doing!

Kimberly-
That is so awesome! I'll pray that something "God-sized" comes from these new contacts. If you find time please leave a comment or two as things unfold!

Hey,
I agree...the value of the pearl (people) is what Jesus (the merchant) sold all for....and He knows how to reach each one. I love to see obedience being walked out! Thanks for the forward.

Shanda-
Always brings a smile when you drop by. Glad the story was an encouragement. Heard a report that God used Pastor Bob mightily at the recent MFI conference. Didn't surprise me but I was still glad to hear it. Pastor Doug was really challenged and ministered to. His family just left today for a 3 month sabatical in Mexico/California. Please pray for them when you think of us.
We love your family of (7)? Wow! Hope to see you all soon so we can catch up and hear what God is up to in your family.

Well, I guess I'm going to be the 'party pooper' here.
So are they paying money from their own pockets? the church fund? or what? (I went to the site and read and watched some stuff but couldn't quite tell)
And then they pay these individual 'dancers' to come to them and while they are alone with them they preach?
I'm kinda wondering if while they are 'ministering' to these gals they are also still supporting the club as well. ???
Posted by: Marcguyver | October 19, 2005 at 09:41 PM
Marc-
Good question. I would guess they are, in a sense, supporting the clubs as they minister. Truth be told, there is "controversy" written all over this story. What I love:
1) An ex-stripper had the faith, courage, and humility to pursue a ministry like this.
2) A pastor had the guts to endorse it.
Let's pray that God is glorified and his sons and daughters won't compromise while invading the enemy's camp boldly.

I think this is fabulous. I think this is what Jesus did hanging out with prostitutes and tax-collectors. We have to be radical like this to save people from dying. Heather saw a need and stood in the gap. They are being effective and GOD BLESS THEM!!

Great word, Melanie. Thanks for dropping by. I look forward to your visits. You're a sharp cookie and have great insights.
Just spoke with your brother yesterday. You know God's used him as a huge blessing in my life. I have no closer friend. I'm excited for his future.
Congratulations on the Microsoft gig! Awesome! Through the internet department I've had the opportunity to serve a few Microsoft employees over the last few months. It's fun. Sometimes they "Go Greyhound" and I pick them up at Bob's, across from the truckstop.

Hey there everyone,
I was invited to the Tyra Banks show to share my story and ended up in California last Tuesday. The show, entitled "Undercover Stripper" will air on CBS and affiliated networks next Wednesday, March 1, 2006. Three of the women invited to the show, currently in the industry, expressed a desire to get out. I am now waiting to hear back from them so I can connect them to resources to help them make this very difficult transition. Because I was in Calif. I was able to meet Lori Albee of JC's Girls. If you think watching them is exciting, meeting her blessed my socks off! Her passion and zeal is contagious. They went to the Porn Expo in Vegas and had so much favor they left completely overwhelmed. Since contacting this ministry last October I have had a vision planted in my heart to begin an organization to network ministries of this kind together. I am currently working to put together a conference to jumpstart this process. In addition, there are new ministries of this kind popping up in Canada now as well. Just thought all you bloggers would like this exciting and encouraging news!

Jim and blogging friends,
JC's Girls are facing some enemy attacks. Pray for them. They are doing a mighty work and touching many lives. They must be doing something really right, unfortunately in this case, the greatest challenge in reaching the lost is some believers who want them to be put back into the square box. The harvest is great and there are very few laborers equipped to be there to not only reap the harvest, but walk along side the hurting as they work to change their world of shame. Because it is not flesh and blood we wrestle against, please also pray for those being used of the enemy in his scheme to distract and destroy this amazing work of God. I am believing for God to show up and do something AMAZING, MIRACULOUS, AND WONDERFUL!!!
Thanks for entering the warfare.

Lets all keep up the good work! And this his the latest from Ottawa,Canada
We found our own way to make a difference,by physically going to the people, we talk and we listen, and we integrate, a message from "God" his unconditionnal love for all of us. And we are amazed at the positive response.Having worked in the adult industry ourselves, has everybody knows, and at the time believing that God would never forgive us for being his rebellious children. From working in mens private clubs, on mens adult chat line, and posing for entertainment magazines.Yes, at the time I(myself) enjoyed the attention, and of course I was flattered, but at the end of the day,I felt lonely, empty, and unfufilled.I had always known of God, and I always well knew I was disappointing him. Now, on my way to rebuilding my relationship with God, we physical go to the sad, and lonelies, to anyone that needs to talk, and we listen and give them a message about what we know "Gods loving and forgiving ways" towards all of us.God takes away the sins of his children, we just need to ask and believe in him.
love Bobbie, in Ottawa
Join us on our mission of delivering the message,
contact us anytime,
God Bless

I read that not only do they share the love of God with the strippers who are lost on their path on Earth, but they still support the strippers at their jobs after shareing God's love... Why are real Christians SUPPORTING strippers to keep doing something so NOT Christian? If you're trying to show someone how to become a Christian, don't support their NON Christian ways any longer! Teach them the RIGHT path, and don't keep them on the WRONG path! The Bible says that the lust of the eyes and flesh is sinful... Do you not realize that it's also sinful to be the one causing the person to have this lust? Don't steer and keep someone on the wrong path. Bring them on God's path, again. Being a stripper isn't God's path...

Strippers often strip becuz they are stuck in a financial catch22 in which they feel they cannot afford financially to stop stripping....
They need transitional money-like loans to start small businesses or until they can get a different job NOTHING else.....they often HATE what they are doing and wish they had a financial resource to help them stop and make the transition....
